MTC Team & Story

Mobile Team Challenge was created by two highly experienced training professionals and educators Cheri Torres and Carolyn Weisenberger (Rainey) in Maryville, Tennessee in 1995.

Cheri and Rainey identified an enormous demand for an easy to use, safe and extremely powerful training and development system that could bring about dramatic change, when used effectively in a diverse range of organisations. Hundreds of organisations in the USA have invested in both the equipment and MTC Train the Trainer programmes over the years but MTC was virtually unheard of in the UK and Europe until 2001.

In 2001, Steve Bolton, a Director of Ropes Course Developments (the European market leaders in the construction of low and high ropes courses and the founder of Vision Development Training - the largest outdoor management development facility in Europe) came across MTC and formed a strategic alliance with Cheri and Rainey. The goal of the alliance was to bring MTC equipment and training to Europe and ensure that it was delivered and supported at a local level.
Mobile Team Challenge Ltd was formed and since that time the partnership has gone from strength to strength.

From Mobile Team Challenge’s initial emphasis on the Armed Forces, HMPs and Youth and Community Sectors, MTC subsequently started to promote its unique equipment to the SME and Corporate Sectors, with phenomenal results. From World Class car manufacturers such as Honda, through Mars / Masterfoods in the retail sector and into International Telecom giants such as Vodafone etc  - Mobile Team Challenge equipment is used to apply learning and development on such topics as; Leadership, Change Management, Customer Excellence, Communication Skills, Team Building, Conflict Management and many more.

In 2004, Barry Bailey, a European General Marketing Manager with 3M for 23 years ($22bn Global Conglomerate) joined Mobile Team Challenge as an Associate Consultant to assist in the penetration of the Corporate Sector and in 2006 Barry became part owner of MTC with Steve Bolton – Founding Director.

Mobile Team Challenge attracts the highest achievers in their specific specializations. From Business Entrepreneurs and Captains of Industry, Senior Ranking Armed Forces Officers, to intrepid climbers and Everest Conquerors. Nationally acclaimed Youth Sector and Youth Offending experts and universally recognised trainers with unique styles and revolutionary concepts all work together to create awesome teamwork synonymous with the Mobile Team Challenges ethos.
