10 Steps to Eliminating Unproductive Behaviour and Increasing Leadership, Teamwork and Communication Skills Mobile Team Challenge is used in the following ways within the Armed Forces and Public Sector organisations to produce the following benefits: 1. MTC Activities help to develop more effective and productive relationships between various ranks and departments within the organisation, as well as with outside agencies. 2. The MTC approach greatly improves group and team functioning and development, which in turn engenders a marked improvement in the quality and effectiveness of communication. 3. Choosing and introducing activities in ways that relate directly to the workplace provides fresh insights into existing work related problems. This often leads to breakthroughs in problem solving approaches. Action plans can then be formulated and alternative courses of action implemented, leading to a significant improvement in results. 4. MTC activities provide many more opportunities for positive assessment, and can surprise individuals about their own and others’ capabilities and good nature. This can reverse attitudes towards low self-esteem and low self-confidence which are the primary causes of many work related problems. 5. Research consistently proves that positive changes made in attitudes towards self-esteem and self-confidence transfer into all other areas of life, so positive benefits achieved through MTC programmes have far reaching consequences. 6. The reviewing of positive experiences following all MTC activities helps to establish reviewing itself as a positive experience. Reviewing skills can then be applied to work related issues so that significant changes in behaviour can be achieved as a result of the “learning by experience” style of training, in which MTC is a recognised World Leader. 7. The reviewing of negative experiences which arise during activities can also provide useful insights into difficulties that may occur and cause problems at work. Once identified in the non-threatening MTC environment, these can then be addressed. 8. MTC Activities can be set up as skills training exercises. Improved skills in, for example, decision-making, problem-solving, planning, assertiveness, or self-control can increase productivity and eliminate negative and unproductive behaviours. 9. MTC leads to significant improvements in knowledge, skill and capability of Trainers through a unique ‘Train the Trainer’ programme. Concepts presented and learnt as a result of these programmes are simple to learn and use and yet highly effective and powerful in application. All skills learnt have the added benefit of being transferable to any other training, development and educational setting. 10. MTC is often used as a tool to increase the scope, standing and effectiveness of community outreach programmes. Due to the fact that the equipment is completely portable, highly professional in appearance, impressive and accessible to all, it provides great flexibility in outreach work. MTC programmes always generate positive feedback, which can only help organisations achieve their desired objectives via outreach work. |
